Intelligent Money Ltd in Administration

Intelligent Money Limited (IML), a Nottingham-based firm founded in 2002, provided Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs), Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) and General Investments Accounts, and was authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

IML has gone into administration following upheld complaints via the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) for allowing inappropriate investments into its SIPPs. Consequently, the FCA imposed Asset Retention Restrictions on the firm.

On 28 May 2024, administrators were appointed, and Intelligent Money’s assets were sold to Quai Administration Services Limited in a ‘pre-pack’ administration arrangement (an arrangement under which the sale of all or part of a company's business or assets is negotiated with a purchaser prior to the appointment of the administrator).

Quai Administration Services Limited, through its regulated subsidiary Quai Investment Services Limited, has now become the operator of Intelligent Money’s SIPPs and ISAs. This ‘rescue deal’ has ensured that customers can continue to contribute to and withdraw from their SIPPs and ISAs as before.

Additionally, IML’s qualifying workplace pension scheme (‘QWPS’) clients were purchased by Digital Wealth Systems Limited, a provider of workplace pensions to both employers and employees.

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has announced that it is now open to compensation claims against Intelligent Money Limited and is currently investigating whether such claims meet its qualifying conditions.
