Have You Lost Money with Equity for Growth? You May Be Entitled to Compensation

Equity for Growth (Securities) Limited (EFG) has now been placed into liquidation following action by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

If you invested through EFG or one of its representatives, you could be entitled to claim compensation of up to £85,000.

What’s happened?

On 25 March 2026, the High Court ordered the winding up of Equity for Growth (Securities) Limited after intervention from the FCA.

The regulator stepped in after receiving a high volume of investor complaints, many linked to risky mini bond investments.

The FCA found that:

- The firm was insolvent

- It could not meet claims against it

- Investors had been exposed to significant financial risk

EFG is now in liquidation, meaning affected investors must pursue compensation through the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Why investors may have lost money

EFG acted as a principal firm, overseeing a network of appointed representatives.

Some of these firms promoted high-risk mini bonds, often issued by unlisted companies, many of which have since failed.

This left investors exposed to:

- Investments that were not properly explained

- High-risk products presented as safe or suitable

- Large financial losses, often with little warning

If this sounds familiar, you may have a valid claim.

Can you claim compensation?

The FSCS has confirmed EFG is in default and is now accepting claims.

You may be eligible if:

- You invested through EFG or one of its representatives

- You have documents and/or emails as evidence

- You invested in high-risk or unsuitable products

- You were not clearly warned about the risks

- You have lost money as a result

You could claim up to £85,000 in compensation per person.
